VIRUS PROTECTION

Carib-Link has added free virus scanning to your email account. According to industry reports, there are currently about 60,000 different email-borne viruses, 91% of those viruses spread via an email attachment. Each computer infected by an email virus can cost you thousands of dollars in down time, repairs, and lost data. The damage being caused by viruses indicates the need for additional protection from your ISP. Carib-Link's virus filtering service is updated daily to safeguard users from the latest virus attacks. Since this service is always on at the server level, you require no work or attention.

How does the virus filter work?

All incoming and outgoing email is scanned for viruses. If a virus is detected, Carib-Link's antivirus scanning service will quarantine the virus to keep it from infecting your computer. You will receive automatic email notification of any virus infected email attempting to enter your mailbox. The message will show the sender's email address and the name of the particular virus that was discovered in the email. This same message will be sent to the FROM address of the infected email alerting them to the virus as well. If the email is free of viruses, it will be sent to your mailbox ready for you to download or view.
